What Does This Ultrasound Report Signify?

Hi! Doctor Samuel, I m 32 years old lady Ainee . Since marriage in the year 2000 till October 2011; my four babies were born through normal vaginal deliveries & I also faced 2 abortions as well. My Ultrasound Whole Abdomen (with Pelvic) reports dated 10th May, 2014 states as follows: Impression: Bulky Uterus. Uterine Prolapse UTERUS: An A/V Bulky Uterus. Uterus measuring: 8.5 x 4.0 x 5.4 cm. Endometrium measuring: 7 mm. Looking forward to your kind acknowledgment & valuable feedback for to take further precautions & effective medical treatment. Thanks & Regards, Ainee

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The uterus is slightly enlarged and bulky. The inner lining of the uterus is normal. There is mention of prolapse in your query and this needs attention if causing significant discomfort and problems. At 32 years you are too young to have a prolapse and might be that your four pregnancies caused weakness of the pelvic ligaments supporting the uterus. You may discuss with your doctor regarding procedures to fix the uterus back in its position.
