What Does This Ultrasound Report Mean?

Hi, I recently had an ultrasound done and they think that they found two fetal poles and two heart beats. They were beating almost exactly the same, though. Also the OB said my levels should be up to 200,000 an they re over 83,000 but I am only six weeks pregnant. Can you shed some light on my situation please?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of ultrasound report is as follows:
Presence of two fetal poles and two hearts on ultrasound are suggestive of twin pregnancies.
Twin pregnancies are supposed to be associated with very high levels of beta HCG.
And the levels of beta HCG should double every 48 hours thus you need to get levels of beta HCG repeated after 48 hours to assess the doubling of beta HCG.
In addition, please note the location of both gestational sacs.
If the gestational sac is present at ectopic location (i.e. other than uterine cavity), the levels of beta HCG are lower than that expected.

Thanks and take care
