What Does This Liver Function Test Results Indicate?
Im a 30 year old male. I do have some drinks at night before bedtime. I know i cutta cut that in half. Anyway i just had a liver function test done. Heres results
Alkaline Phosphatese 65 Range 40-150
Ast 42 Range 10-50
Alt 51 range 2-50
Bilirubin total 7.5 range 6.0-8.5
Protein Total 7.5 range 6.0-8.5
Albumin 4.7 range 3.9
Uric Acid 8.1 range 3.9-8.3
What are your thoughts on these #'s? For the past 9 years i would have 4-5 cups of wine a day. I know i need to cut it in half, my dr said as well. But how do these #'s look overall?? And im not sure what total protein and Uric Acid means?
1) alcohol consumption affect liver function and liver enzymes are predictors for that. 2) considering normal liver enzymes, this test looks fine 3) total protein means, level of protein in blood which is indirect indicator of liver function as protein formation occur in liver. 4) uric acid level is for renal function and purine metabolism without any correlation with liver function. but there is possibility if liver function damage due to high level of uric acid.
