I received labs and this is what concerned me: MCH:19 Hgb: 7.2 Hct:32.6% Fibrinogen: 322 mg/dL MCHC:29g/dL MCV: 63 fl Poik: 1+ Polychromasia: 1+ RDW: 25.2% Anisocytosis: 2+.NRBC: 00.2/100WBC.Abs NRBCs: 0.02.Neutro Absolute: 4.93.Baso: 0.08 ,Microcyte: 3+Thoughts on what these results mean? Your Hemoglobin is reduced meaning Anaemia,MCV,MCH,MCHC are reduced that means Microcytic hypochromic blood picture,RDW is increased suggesting anisocytosis meaning your RBCs are of variable sizes all these findings suggest either hemolysis or iron deficiency.Since Fibrinogen is normal so cause is mainly iron deficiency it can be proved by iron study and can be corrected by iron preparations.Blood loss must be ruled out if any .Start your medication under physician's guidance Your Anaemia will be corrected,Take proper well balanced meals .
