What Does This Blood Test Report Indicate?

My husband donated blood and got a letter from them that rpr was nonreacitive but confirmatory test and serologic test were reactive and the final interpretation was confirmed positive. He did have it 20+ years ago and was treated. Is this an active infection?

Hi, thanks for sharing your health concerns with HCM!

If I were your treating Doctor for this case, I would like to know if he has any symptom now at all and kind / time of last therapy!

As per your description, he had infection by syphilis which is easily treatable! So I think he is not in any active/passive carrier now! You could consult some infectious disease specialist for opinion / farther tests if necessary / confirmation and to relieve your concerns!

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing your husband good health.
