Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is 66 years old and had twice pancretitic attack 3 months back and she is diabetic High BP patient. She had CECT upper abdomen dual phase and the report says mildly dilated CBD and prominent central intrahepatic biliary radicles what does it mean? CA 19.9 test shows 141.2
I understand your concern. Your mother's CA 19-9 levels are way above the normal. "Prominent central intrahepatic biliary radicles" means a blockage in the canals within the liver cells that produce bile for the digestion of fat. I'm sorry to say this is not the ideal results you want to see on CECT. Your mother's doctor will be able to inform you in more detail. Wishing you all the best
