What Does This X Ray Report Indicate?

hi,i have an xray and the result is..
Defined densities are seen in the left upper lungfield.
The vascular markings are not accentuated.
The heart is not enlarged.
Diaphragm and sulci are intact. \IMPRESSION: P.T.B. left of undetermined activity clinical and bacteriologic correlation is suggested.r>please i need a second opinion

Hello
Since this is only an X ray report but you didn't mention the symptoms .
X-ray findings in active pulmonary tuberculosis include:
-Lesions in the apical & posterior segments of the upper lobes ; lesions are usually soft in active PTB & there is usually no or the little fibrosis or calcification ( in your case densities are seen in left upper lung lobe or apical segment).
- Apical cavities
-Calcification & fibrosis usually suggest healed PTB.
In you case there is pulmonary tuberculosis in left upper lobe.
Get in sputum for A F B , blood for C B C , E S R( if > 100 mm 1st hour strongly suggestive of PTB).
Also get in Purified Protein Derivative(PPD)-Tuberculin Skin test for confirmation.
