What Does This TSH Level Indicate?

My daughter was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism when she was 5 years old. The ranges have changed slightly depending on the lab we visit for TSH levels. She is 17 years old and her last lab taken a week and a half ago measured 66.2 for TSH. Should I be concerned? That seems extremely high to me.

Hi,
Thank you for choose Health Care Magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concern.
Normal value ranges of TSH level may vary slightly among different laboratories. Some labs use different measurements and methods.
From these results even if there is no units or the method that evaluated these lab test necessary for the referencing range, these is a elevated value for TSH, and these is related with her Hypothyroidism diagnose, Hypothyroidism is when Thyroxin(T4), Triiodothyronin(T3) hormone blood test are low and as a result the TSH elevated.
I suppose that your daughter was treated with the replacement hormone therapy (e.g Levothiroxine) and hormone monitored from the endocrinologist for these during this time from the moment that he was diagnosed with her problem, if not these is necessary to do for control the elevated TSH level.
I recommend you to go to an endocrinologist to add this replacement hormone (Levothiroxine) and a monitor of hormone level TSH, Total Thyroxin (T4), Free Triiodothyronin (FT3) Free Thyroxin (FT4), and show where the problem is if your daughter takes the medication.
Hope I give answer to your problem. Feel free to ask me again
Take care,
