Hey I had a MRI of the brain it says the MRI shows punctate t2 hyperintensities noted in the anterior right subinsular and left periatrial white matter nonspecific in appearance and may present tiny nonspecific areas of gliosis what does this mean ? I m 29.
Thank you for using HCM. MRI is a sensitive tool for picking up CNS abnormalities but T2 hyperintense foci is due to varied clinical conditions. Hence, the MRI should be interpreted with clinical correlation rather than in isolation to clinch the diagnosis. Please follow up with your physician.
