My name is Alpesh Patel. During my regular health check-up-liver function test, following are observations: Total Bilirubin-2.6, Direct-1.2 & Indirect-1. mg/dl. SGPT-22 & SGOT-39. Total Protein-7.10, Albumin-3.7, Globulin-3.4 & A.G. Ratio-1 My age is 42 years & weight is 86 kg. I am overweight by 12-15 kg. Please advise increased bilirubin but SGPT-SGOT normal indicates what?
Your clinical correlation is necessary in your case. For increased bilirubin, investigate with peripheral smear examination, reticulocyte count, and serum LDH estimation to rule out hemolytic anemia. If no specific cause found (particularly hemolytic anemia) than it might be Gilbert syndrome like condition which found incidentally and it is not dangerous condition.
Consult physician for examination and further work up accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
