What Does This LFT Report Indicate?

Hi, I would appreciate you can help me to clarify the following questions:
The nutritionist sent me to do the LFTs, which were the following:
SGOT=47 U/L
SGPT=49
SGOT/SGPT=1.0
GGT=27

Like you see, the SGOT is hight, so I would like to know what I must to do for improving this result and if it's dangerous and what this hight value means?

My IMC =24,9, weight = 72 kg , 1,70 mts, 43 years old and this test was done just for care and prevention.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
regards
carlos

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for contacting health care magic....

When liver hepatocytes are affected than SGOT result can be high ...
Normal value of SGOT and SGPT are below 42 ...
Here it is slightly elevated ...

So cause has to be searched for elevated liver enzymes ..

You can have fatty liver , Gall stone like liver affection mostly ..
Temporary viral infection sometime can lead its elevation....
So investigate further with USG to rule out fatty liver...

Take fruits abd green leafy vegetables more ..
The food good for liver can be taken ...like....
-carrot
-spinach
-mustard green
-dandelion
-onion
-avocados
-indian gooseberry
-beat etc....

Take less fried food and use good oil for cooking like sunflower oil...

Regular exercise done to reduce weight ....

Avoid alcohol drinking ...

If still after two month liver enzymes persistently high i would like to suggest you for more investigations like .....
1.HBSag detection (ELISA)
2.Anti HCV antibody (ELISA)

Take care ..

Hope your concern solved ...
