What Does This CT Scan Indicate?
I have had diverticulitis 3 times in 8 years. My ct shows 5 centimeter cyst in right kidney and 8mm lesion on my liver. the kidney cyst has shown up for past 10 years but liver lesion only for past 2 months.
had ct yesterday to confirm diverticulitis but Internist wants to do MRI for liver lesion

1.The simple cortical cyst of the kidney can be there for years which does not need any active intervention.
2.It only needs to be monitored in the followup scans if any complex changes are taking place.
3.Liver hemangioma are also needs to followup - but before that one has to confirm the findings.
4.The MRI with contrast will give the specific findings to say confirm to say it is a hemangioma.
5.Even i would suggest the MRI with contrast to rule out any malignancy.
