Hello. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I read your query and understood your concern.
The figures that you provided, including a high gamma-glutaryl transpeptidase (
GGT) level, are indicative of, with high probability, slight acute damage to the
liver by regular alcohol intake. In this perspective, I think you should reduce your alcohol intake to a maximum of 30 g
ethanol per day (i.e. one glass of wine or one beer a day).
As for
cholesterol levels, I would recommend you to follow a healthy diet for three months, which means green leafy vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken (less red meat if none at all) and a 60-minute physical activity a day. After three months on this diet, I would recommend that you measure blood cholesterol, triglycerides and liver function tests levels. If these figures remain still high, after you have undertaken all the above mentioned changes in diet and lifestyle, then we can discuss about medical treatment.
I hope I was helpful with my answer. Feel free to ask again. Take care.
