What Does The Uterus Scan Of An Elderly Female With Bladder Cancer Mean?
My mom is 89 years old and she has bladder cancer, postmenopausal bleeding, they did an ultra sound and found that the endometrial echo complex measure 7mm in maximal thickness. there is hypoechoic fluid like distention of the endometrial cavity. No increased vascularity is present. The wall of the endometrial stripe measure 7mm in thickness. I want to know exactly what does it means
1.The endometrial thickness for a post menopausal women with above finding appears normal. 2.The collection in the endometrial cavity like distention - possibly due to the bladder mass indenting on the endometrial canal causing obstructing the out flow. 3.It means there is obstruction. The bladder and uterus fat planes are maintained as its not mentioned of involvement. 4.There is no abnormal vascularity noted with in the uterus - suggest no pathology noted. 5.Suggest to get a MRI pelvis for better anatomical delineation and involvement of adjacent pelvic structures. Good luck.
