What Does The Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi I have had an internal and external ultrasound today I measure 7 1/2 mm the sonogropher could not detect a heart beat and have told me I will need to decide how to have the pregnancy removed. Is this 100% that my baby has passed away or is it still early enough for the heart to start beating I don t know what to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Usually fetal heart is visualized at 7 weeks of pregnancy, when embryo is about 5.5-6 mm.
The fetal measurement in given USG report is 7.5 mm ,without heartbeat, I am afraid the sonologist is correct in his readings. In such condition one has to terminate the pregnancy.
But it is advised to take second opinion, (by taking another USG scan) before going for termination.
Thanks.
Thanks.
