Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
I do appreciate your concern regarding to your wife's health.
The above mentioned results are suggestive of under active thyroid or hypothyroidism.
In most of the cases it has an autoimmune origin, or may be caused by surgical removal of the thyroid gland or by some medications (amiodarone).
I would recommend to start the treatment with levothyroxine with the dose suggested by her treating physician after evaluating her weight and other comorbidities.
Hope the information will help.
It will be a pleasure to answer further questions in the future.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
