What Does The Report Say?

Can you explain this test results

Specimen: FNA from lt Cervical swelling

Clinically: Multiple Cervical Lymph Nodes Lt.

Procedure: FNA done from Lt Cervical lymphnodes, Two passes made, adequate aspirate

4 alcohol fixed smears, (Pap & Geimsa stain)

Microscopic Observations:

Smears show scattered erythrocytes in background & adequate cells comprising apparently

proportionate lymphocytes & precursors.

Few clusters of epitheloid histiocytes amounting to granuloma noted. Many scattered histiocytes also

seen. Tiny foci showing necrosis noted.

Impression: FNA, Lt Cervical Lymphnodes

Cytologically Necrotizing Granulomatous Lymphadenitis

Tuberculosis remains first D/d

Comments: Tissue diagnosis suggested for confirmation / if inadequate response to treatment.

FNAC findings are typical of tuberculous lymphadenitis.
It is suggested by predominant lymphocytes & precursors with few clusters of epitheloid histiocytes amounting to granuloma.It is also suggested by necrotizing granulomatous lesions.
You need antitubercular drugs for T.B adenitis(infection in lymph nodes).
You should consult your physician.
