What Does The Red And Blue Indicate In The Ultrasound?

I went and observed an ultrasound today of a friend. (I am currently a full time student in a certified medical assistant program) While the technician was performing the procedure, when she got to the pancreas, she included the color red and blue. What does the red and blue represent? We have not gotten this far yet in my studies. The Pt. is Male, 47, 208 pounds, Ht of 5'11".

Hello,
this is basic ultrasound knowledge. I'm sure you'll be familiarized with this in no time. Red means blood flow towards the transducer, blue means away. The lighter the color the greater the velocity of the blood. Dark and dull colors mean the opposite.
I hope I've answered your question. If you need any clarification please feel free to ask again.
Good luck with your studies!
