What Does The Presence Of S.Typhi-O In Blood Report Indicate?

Hi Doctor, My child is in 4 Yrs, 3 days suffering from 102.5 degree fever,consult a local doctor, he advised to check blood test, the test result is S.Typhi-O -- Positive upto 1:160 Titre. Pls give advice what i m to do. I am awaiting your reply. Thanks you, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi and Welcome to HCM,

Your child is having enteric fever that is Typhoid. Dilution level is high. Please consult doctor for further management as early as possible. It can be treated with antibiotics. Take plenty of fluids.

All fiber is to be eliminated from the diet so that the intestine is not further irritated. Bland diet is to be followed without any spices or masala.

Foods to be strictly avoided are butter, ghee, vegetable oil, chillies, spices and all irritating fibers occurring in foods.
