benign prostatic hyperplasia is a condition in aged men which presents with urinary obstructive symptoms. it's a benign condition associated with aging but shouldn't present as early as 40. it is medically treated in those affect by the symptoms. other than that prostatitis could be a cause and you might even need to rule out prostatic carcinoma. your doctor will do a series of investigation to help you reach your diagnosis.
