What Does The Following Ultrasonography Report Indicate?
Liver : Enlarged in size(15.9cm). There is a mixed echogenic lesion having cystic component measuring about(5.9x5.6) seen in the right lobe liver.Rest of the echotexture of the hepatic parenchyma is heterogeneous.Intrahepatic portion of IVC is normal.Portal vein is nnormal.Portahepatis is normal. This is the ultrasonography report of my father. Is this liver cirrhosis?
1.The report suggest there is cystic area in the right lobe of the liver with changes in the liver parenchyma. 2.The liver seen increased in size with increased echo texture - fatty liver. heapto-megaly. 3.There is no feature that suggest the cirrhosis - as portal vein and intra hepatic biliary radicals are with in limits. 4.In this case liver function tests and clinical condition need to correlate. 5.Cross sectional study like CT / MRI will be helpful to characterise the lesion and its source and extensions.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
