What Does The Following Hysterosalpingography Report Suggest?

Hi, just came in from the hospital after I did a hysterosalpingogram. The result says : the preliminary film shows normal bony and soft tissues outlined. The opacified uterine cavity and the cavical canal appear normal in morphology. Both FTs are faintly outlined by the introduced contrast up to their lateral 1/2, ending in a loop failing to freely spill contrast into pelvic cavity. Likewise the delayed film shows no evidence of free intraperitoneal spill. IMPRESSION: PATENT FTs UP TO THEIR LATERAL 1/2

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The hysterosalpingogram takes a look at the fallopian tubes (FT) to see if they are patent (open).
If there is a blockage, it may affect the passage of egg or sperm and therefore affect fertility.

According to the results, the tubes are open up to a point but they are not completely open. This partial closure may affect conception unfortunately.

I hope this helps
