What Does The Following Colonoscopy Report Suggest?

My husband recently completed his colonoscopy and endoscopy in 1/2017. On the doctor s notes these are the impressions found during the exem: Medium Sized hiatus hernia, Monillal esophagitis- Biopsied, Erythematous mucosa in the stomach, Normal examined duodenum -Biopsied. over the last 3 months he pokes his stomach indicating that he has discomfort. He coughs alot also. I advised him to go back to the doctor (digestive) to explain what is happening to him. The doctor gave him IBgard. Is it possible to put these findings in plain language. he is not able to get an appointment for the next 30 days and i believe it is severe. Please advise thanks.

Hi I think he has had a gastroscopy. The report shows----
Hiatus hernia means part of stomach is herniating into chest through hole in diaphragm (the muscle sheet that separates chest from abdomen).
Fungal infection in food pipe.
Mild gastritis--inflammation in stomach.
regards
