What Does The Following MRI Indicate?
Please explain the following findings from my MRI. Do I need surgery or PT.. Thanks..
1. High-grade cartilage loss within the medial compartment with mild-subchondral marrow edema at the posterior medial femoral condyle due to a full-thickness fissure. Associated small joint line osteophytes.
2. High-grade cartilage loss trochlear cartilage with mild subchronral marrow edema. Moderate focal cartilage thinning patellar cartilage as above.

1.The features suggest there are multiple changes which corresponding to the degenerative changes.
2.These changes are seen as a age related changes and in weight bearing individuals.
3.There are cartilage changes, and joint changes, cartilage and bone marrow changes.
4.In this case if mobility is difficulty then operative procedure is treatment of choice.
5.However other underlying medical conditions, age, should be considered - if supports then you can get it done.
