What Does The Chest X Ray Report Indicate?

I have suggested for Laproscopy and histroscopy. But in Chest X ray i have received a report where it is mentioned that:Non-homogenous opacity is seen in right apex.Rest of the bilateral lung fields are clear.Trachea is central; no mediastinal shift is seen. Both hila and Pulmonary vasculature are unremarkable.Costophrenic and configuration is unremarkable.Costophrenic angles and domes of the diaphragam are unremarkable.Bony thorax and soft tissues of the chest wall are unremarkable.Impression:Non-homogenous opacity in right apex suggestive of infective etiology? Pulmonary Koch s.Plz suggest what does it mean

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Non-homogenous opacity in right apex indicates infection. It may be due to pneumonia or Tuberculosis.
Firstly, broad spectrum antibiotics should be prescribed. In non responding cases,T.B should be ruled out.
You need investigation like routine hemogram, mantoux test.PCR for T.B can be done if needed.
Other findings are within normal limit. Both CP angles, diaphragm, lung hila, bony thorax are normal.

Hope I have answered your question.
Take Care
