What Does The Absence Of Gestational Sac And Positive Pregnancy Test Result Indicate?

hi... i recently go through ivf process..my et was on 4/12/14. i got positive preg test..bhcg is also increasing but not doubling. bhcg was 26 on 16/12/14, 226 on 19/12/14 and 302 on 22/12/14. doctor says bhcg is not good. i m now at my 6 week..and no gestation sac found but urine test detects positive. my doctor told me that it might be chemical pregnancy. is it possible that sac might view late in ultra vaginal scan.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Absence of gestational sac and positive beta HCG levels but no doubling of HCG can be due to blighted ovum.
Blighted ovum occurs when conception occurs, beta HCG rises but no viable pregnancy occurs.
This is a non-viable pregnancy and it has to be terminated.
Consult your gynecologist for further work up.

Thanks and take care
