What Does The MRI Scan With Disc Protrusion Indicate?

hi i have severe back pain last three mounts, extend down to my both legs. i had ct scan shows that significant disc space narrowing at l5/s1 with broad based disc bulge, sequestrated fragment indenting both nerve root orijins, after that i had MRI shows that at l5/s1 there is a left paracentral disc protrusion which extends caudal to the disc space and abuts the thecal sac. There is a posterior diffuse disc bulge and this causes subarticular recess narrowing for the left s1 nerve root.Which scan should i believe.

welcome to Health care magic.
1.Your report says that the disk which is seen in between two vertebral bodies has moved back wards and even a part of it has broken and causing the compression on the chord which passes in the spinal canal, and the nerve through foramen, and the joints.
2.You have to trust both scans, CT good in bone pathology, MRI is good for disc, nerve , chord pathologies.
3.And both are giving almost same findings.
4.After this depending on the grade your doctor may starts with simple exercise to intervention.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
