What Does The MRI Regarding The Leg Pain Indicate?

I feel on ice in December. Gradually, the pain worsened. The doctor said it was a sacoriliac spran and I did not need an x-ray. I was sent to physical therapy. The pain worsened. My groin area, leg, back, hurt to the point where I dragged my leg. Whatever position I was in, it seemed my leg locked. So, if I am sitting for a short time and get up my leg is stuck. It really hurts. An MRI was finally done with the following findings: Five lumbar vertebrae are assumed. Subtle retro L5 vertebral sublux. Mild L4 and Moderate L5 spondylosis with degenerative endplate marrow changes. Vertebral heights, alignment and marrow signal are otherwise normal. No acute osseous changes. The conus is normal. A circumscribed right parametrial mass measures approximately 7.6 x 3.3 cm demonstrating predominately fat intensity with multiple septations, thickened posterior wall, and right lateral focal T1 hypointense signal. A3 cm size partially imaged T2 hyperintense right mid-renal lesion, likely cyst.

What should I do or be doing from these results.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

There are 5 small bones in lower back with discs between them. The bones are called lumbar vertebrae and numbered L 1 through L 5. In your case there is slight displacement of L 5 with adjacent bones and this is probably due to the injury. There is also degenerative changes in the L 4 and L 5 vertebrae. No significant injury is there.

In the pelvis, there is a 7.6 x 3.3 cms lesion between the right ovary and uterus. This is most likely a benign mass containing fat, probably a dermoid cyst. Please discus this with your gynecologist.

The right kidney is showing a 3 cms cyst in the middle portion. It needs proper assessment to say if it is of any concern.

I suggest you please get an ultrasound scan abdomen and pelvis to get a clear picture of right ovarian dermoid cyst and right kidney.
