What Does The MCH And MCHC Value In My Blood Test Indicate?

Hello doctor,
today i have done by blood test. This test is performed on ADVIA2120 5-PART DIFF. In this report MCH and MCHC value given reference range is 27-32pg and 31-35 g/dl. My range is low and it is 23.90 and 30.60. And in this report MICRO and HYPO are given as +. what does it mean?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the blood tests is as follows:
MCV and MCH are red cell parameters which assess the size, volume and hemoglobinization of the red cells.
Low MCV and MCH suggest low volume and reduced hemoglobinization of the red cells.
The presence of microcytic and hypochromic red cell further potentiate the finding of small sized and less hemoglobinized red blood cells.
This picture is characteristically seen in iron deficiency anemia.
Iron supplements are required to treat the iron deficiency state.

You need to consult your doctor with report for prescription of iron supplements.
