my husband had a ct without contrast and it showed slight asymmetry in the deep white matter of the right parietal lobe near the convexity. Also mild atrophy with no acute intracranial hemorrhage.Could you explain this in laymans language? He is 5'7" and weighs 183. He has mild Parkinsons, heart defibulator, prior open heart surgery, very low platlet count(33000) and 4.7 aaa. He has times when he seems confused and other times when hes ok. Wondering if TIA would show on CT scan.
The CT scan report is explained below. 1. showed slight asymmetry in the deep white matter of the right parietal lobe near the convexity. This is a slight asymmetrical appearance on the right side of brain and is an observed finding which is not a concern.
2. Also mild atrophy with no acute intracranial hemorrhage. This is due to normally aging brain and is an acceptable finding. No hemorrhage is also a finding which rules out bleeding in the brain.
Any significant TIA would be visible on CT scan and this is not there. You need not worry about CT scan report but please continue medications after asking his doctor.
