What Does Symptoms Of Fever, Vomiting And Sore Throat Mean?
Hello! My brother is 4 years old. He has a fever of 38.5 C, a headache, a sore throat, and is vomiting in the evening. I have a feeling it is a mix of 2 things, but I wonder what they are. He does not eat much at this time and drinks a lot of boiled water. Help!!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, Head ,fever, sore throat are symptoms of throat infection.Possibly tonsillitis. Because of painful tonsils,he is not eating well, but drinking lot of boiled water. Hot water gives relief from pain in throat. The vomiting is due to raised acidity in stmoach,as he is starving. * Encourage him to drink warm milk with bread/bickuites , mild soups, rice/sago puddings so that he is well nourished ,will digest medicines given orally, will not vomit,& will recover soon. * hot saline gargles would help. * consult a child specialist for specific drugs according to physical findings/pathological tests as per need. Thanks. Thanks.
