What Does Swelling On Legs After Wearing Knee Brace Indicate?

I just found out that I have a lot of arthritis, bone spurs and calcium deposits in my knee as well as hardening of the meniscus. I bought a knee brace wrap style and it helps keep my knee stable but I find that when I wear it the rest of my leg will swell almost twice the size it should be including my feet. Why would this cause all this other area to swell or is it just forcing the fluid out of my knee area to the rest of my leg. I have to work tomorrow and I don t know that I want to put the brace on but I know if I don t i will likely have a lot more problems by the time I get home from work...

dear patient
swelling in leg and feet below knee brace occurs due to tight fitting brace that hampers venous drainage from distal parts and hence there is fluid accumulation which appears as swelling. there is nothing to worry and you can apply proper fitting brace if its helping you. you can also get well fitting custom made brace from manufacturer. remove brace at night and keep your limb elevated during sleep will help in reduction of swelling.
