What Does Suspicious Densities Noted In The Right Lower Lobe Indicate?

My nanny had a Chest PA X-ray with the following results:

Suspicious densities are noted in the right lower lobe, overlying osseus structures.

The heart is normal is size.

Hemidiaphragms, sinuses and soft tissues are intact.



Impression:

Suggest spot oblique view with nipple marker for further evaluation of the right lower lobe.



What is the interpretation for this?

Thanks for writing in.

The chest X ray shows an area in the left lower portion of chest where a certain pattern is doubtful. This means it can either be the shadow of nipple or a false shadow which needs repeat evaluation. At this point it does not confirm to a disease but better to take another X ray to be certain. It can be a problem in the ribs also and that is the reason an oblique projection has been asked.

Rest of the structures like heart, diaphragms and large airways appear normal.
