What Does Spitting Of Formula Mean With My Newborn Of 3 Days ?
We have a newborn as of 3 days ago-she is not allowed to leave the hospital because of ? Low Sodium? She is also spitting up her formula? What does this mean? How dangerous is it?

hi welcome to HCM.low serum sodium
concentration due to either an excess of water or primary
sodium depletion. After birth, extracellular fluid volume
contracts, and this is accompanied by net negative
sodium and water balance and weight loss but by the third or fourth postnatal
day, sodium and water balance have become positive, and normal.the vomiting associate with this is due to many serious problems like pyloric stenosis,gastroenteritis,water intoxication etc.dont worry every cause can be curable,discuss with your physician he will explain you about your baby problem ok have a healthy recovery

Read your prob, there are many causes of low sodium like respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis etc , whatever the cause are, first it have to corrected as it has many harmful n life threatning effect. so do per advise of your doc n go to proper diagnosis.
