What Does Sore Back And Stabbing Pain In The Buttocks Indicate?

Four days ago I had a slightly sore back. The next day when I woke I had a stabbing pain in right buttock which within an hour I had a numb right buttock straying into thigh. Since then I have stabbing, burning pain down my right leg and numbness in buttock and initially right side of labia which is now spreading into left side. I though this could be a trapped nerve but am slightly concerned as it is getting worse and I am currently in a hiking holiday! Any advice?

Hello. Do you have history of the same pain? Or pain in the same area before. With your description I cannot rule out a pinched nerve due to a slipped disc. It can be also a really bad muscle strain causing your pinched nerve symptom too. I think you should cut short your hiking holiday and get to the nearest hospital. Try to take some pain meds and apply warm compress on your back. If you are more comfortable lying on your back do so with the compress below it.
