I suffer with very heavy periods, very cloty and heavy. I had ultrasound done last Friday and they were saying there's alot of shadowing on the womb. I did have Non Hogkins Lymphoma of the liver and am now in remission. What exactly would shadowing of the womb mean.
Hi, Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic. On ultrasound shadowing in the uterus means that you are having calcifications in the uterine parenchyma. These calcifications could be simple calcifications of the arteries or due to fibroids. If any lesion is mentioned within which calcification is seen it will be a fibroid or else calcification of the uterine arteries. Fibroids can cause heavy periods. You should undergo a transvaginal scan which will delineate the calcifications better and will give a clearer picture about the lesions if any. Non hodgkins lymphoma very rarely affects uterus so it is unlikely because of that and should be an incidental finding. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery.
