What Does "pelvicalceal Dilatation With Baggy Extrarenal Pelvis" Mean?
My son has stalwarts kidneys and has had a kidney scan and results state it appears there are multiple small cysts within the upper pole of left kidney with some cortical loss, it also states it had mild pelvicalceal dilatation with baggy extrarenal pelvis, what does this all mean?
The left kidney has multiple fluid filled cysts at the upper pole. Size of cysts is not mentioned. Cortical loss is also reported which means some of the kidney tissue might be lost which can cause a subnormal kidney function. There is also collection of the collecting system with prominence of the renal pelvis and this needs to be clarified if it is a normal variation or due to any condition.
