What Does "hepatic Cysts On The Liver" On USG Indicate?

last year I was diagnosed with sjogrens syndrome..my white cell count has always been high since my late teens and i am 52now...i asked my doctors to test me for the disease after watching mystery diagnosis and they were shocked that i tested extrememly high...started about 20yrs old,my rt salivary gland was removed,3/4 of my thyroid was removed,my teeth were removed,i have rheumatory arthritis, back problems and last year a neurostimulator pacemaker was put in and i carry a remote control to work the wires in my head for very very severe migraines...i was one of 200 people in the united states to have this surgery done...went for a check up last week ...sent for a sonogram,it showed hepatic cysts on or around the liver and fat is being replacing the liver....if I am correct, the sjogrens disease is also connected to the liver problem from what I have researched....i have appts every month with my neurologist for follow ups, rheumatory doctor who is on vacation right now,who I will see next week...when they say fat is replacing the liver, does that mean my liver is disintergrating..???however the hepatic cysts are stable according to the report....please help as i will be following up with my doctors and do I have to go to a liver specialist if there is such a person???sincerely, and bless you all ...i would have never been diagnosed with sjogrens syndrome if it wasnt for the mystery diagnosis channel......and although there is no cure and symptons can only be treated, the two places they dont want it to travel to is the kidney and liver.....

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
In most cases these spots are benign growths such as cysts or hemangiomas. Hemangioma is very small and this cant cause such symptoms unless larger than 10cm. He should do MRI scn or liver biopsy to find what type of lesion it is. Less common this may be malignant issues such as hepatocellular carcinoma . His abdominal pain may not be related to liver spots at all. It may always be sign of some other issues such as IBD or gastritis. If these are just simple liver cysts then I dont think this is causing his symptoms.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
