What Does Prominent Ventricle Mean In Ultrasound During Pregnancy?
I had an U/S done at 28 weeks. The tech kept getting a measurement of my baby's left lateral ventricle of 9-10mm. The dr said it was a prominent ventricle but wasn't concerned. She said it only increases in about 8% of fetuses. My amnio came out fine and there weren't any other abnormal findings on the U/S. Should I be concerned?
According to USG report, width of lateral ventricle is borderline.Mild dilatation is defined as width of the atrium of the lateral ventricle is greater than 10 mm.
You shouldn't worry at all.You only need follow up scan.In majority of the cases,it becomes normal with the advancement of pregnancy. It is good that there are no other abnormalities,so prognosis is very good.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
