My husband got up out of bed this morning with a burning when he urinated and the first time to urinate he had a little bloody discharge. Since that time he has not had the blood but is urinating frequently. He also had to go poo several times. Can you help us see what is wrong

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your husband.

As per the signs and symptoms of your husband it seems to he is suffering with urinary tract infection. Burning sensation, increased frequency in urination and small amount of blood in urine is suggestive of urinary tract infection.

He needs to take lot of fluids so that there will be diluted urine and less pain during micturation (peeing).

Another possible cause of blood in urine can be kidney stone. For that he needs a lower abdominal ultrasound scan done.

If I would have been his treating doctor I would have recommended antibiotics like ofloxicin twice daily for a week calculated dosage as per his weight.
Also put him on plenty of fluids (water).

Hope you find my answer helpful and visit us back in case you need any further assistance.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
