What Does Pain In The Rib Cage After Sneezing Indicate?

I sneezed and something popped near the bottom left part of my rib cage. It now hurts there especially if I sneeze or cough again. I am breathing ok with only minor discomfort, however I have a cold so any further sneezing or coughing is quite painful! What did I do?

You did not mention your age, anyhow its likely to be an epigastric hernia that appears during straining activity like coughing and sneezing. It is advised to take cough remedy as prolonged straining can make it worse in which case surgical consultation and review will be needed.
