What Does No Aggressive Osseous Abnormality In The Below Report Suggest?

Diagnosis: There is obscruration of fracture line along the inferior pole of the patella. The bones are diffusely osteopenic. Joint spaces of the knees are relatively well preserved given age. (74) No aggressive appearing osseous abnormality is seen. I understand that I have a fracture line along the inferior pole of the patella (knee). Wondering what no aggressive appearing osseous abnormality is seen means?

Hi,

I understand your concern.

The X-ray report is referring only changes of the fracture line along the inferior pole of the patella.

"No aggressive appearing osseous abnormality is seen" means that the changes noted in the X-ray are not malign. They are corresponding to fracture and age respectively.

So, you should not be worried about. I'd suggest to run bone density scanning (DEXA test) as the bones have been noted diffusely osteopenic.

In this way, we can decide the best managing strategies.

All the best.
