hi, I recently had my MRI done for cervical spondylosis and it confirmed with c5 and c6 and also a diffuse disc bulge at c5-6 level causing indentation over thecal sac and compression over billateral neural recess more on left side. what does this mean?
Thanks for your question in HCM. In my opinion your MRI report is not good. If you have symptoms like neck pain, restricted movement of neck, numbness and heaviness in both upper limbs more on left side than you should immediately consult spine surgeon. You may need decompression surgery. In Normal anatomy nerve roots are coming out between the vertebrae. So when the space is narrowed the nerve roots coming oht from vertebrae are compressed and cause symptoms. If the compression is severe than they may cause motor weakness. So consult spine surgeon immediately.
