Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. I was diagnosed with hepatitis A in November 2015 and I took precautions and rest as advised by the doctors. I got my blood report done last week and my total bilirubin is 1.2mg/dl, SGPT-115U/L and SGOT is 70U/L. For last two days i have been feeling a little nausea and dizziness. Can you please tell what shall i do?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The blood reports indicates that the total bilirubin has come back to upper limit of normal range of 1.2mg/dl. However, enzymes SGOT and SGPT has still remains high, which would indicate that the recovery has taken place but it is not completely. That is the reason why you could be experiencing some of the symptoms like nausea and dizziness. One reason could be that the extent of infection and damage to liver cells could be more and hence it is taking a little longer than normal to recover. Kindly get an ultrasound abdomen scan done to know the present status of liver. Kindly consult Physician with report for appropriate evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
