I had a blood pregnancy test done on Monday and was wondering how long it has taken any of you to get the results back? I am really nervous and I all can do is post here.
Also, My period was 8 days late, but I hadn't had any positive home pregnancy tests. The last one I took was on Monday morning before I went to the to get the blood test done. I was wondering what my chances are that I am pregnant.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A positive urine test confirms pregnancy. The urine pregnancy test becomes positive 10-14 days after conception. The urine pregnancy test can be negative within 10 days of conception. Urine pregnancy test and blood pregnancy test detect pregnancy hormone - beta HCG. In blood, beta HCG level doubles every 48 hours in case one is pregnancy. Failure to double every 48 hours is not supportive of pregnancy. Thus, please get the test repeated after 48 hours if the current beta HCG level is elevated. And for the report, I am afraid you will have to collect it yourself.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
