What Does My X Ray Report Indicate?

Hi, my daughter xray said this:there is a focal consolidation in the LT lower lobe, RT lung is clear. (That was month ago) Now it says there is a central peribronchial thickening. Every time she s got ough they do xray ,first it says its thickening ,then focal consolidation then thickening again. It never says its all clear even after the course of antibiotics. What does it mean?Does that mean there is still sth going on and maybe antibiotics should have been given for longer?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Lung infection leads to collection of inflammatory cells and other substances with in the respiratory tract which may appear on X ray as consolidation or thickening.

Peribronchial thickening means inflammation in the wall of bronchi.

Here I would like more information to help you better
What all symptoms she is having and what all medicines has been given to her with other related medical history

In my opinion she may require a course of antibiotics and anti allergic drugs with supportive care like cough syrup or steam inhalation.
Honey with few drops of ginger juice may be beneficial in case of chronic cough

Hope this answers your question
Please feel free to ask for more assistance.
Best wishes
