Female, 41 yrs. UTI. Tried treating it with D-Mannose for several days. Got diarrhea from it and started on Cipro for 2 days. Due to pain that Cipro caused, I ended up on Augmentin for 10 days and ceased the Cipro. Used probiotics to curb the diarrhea that began with D-Mannose. However, 4 days after the last dose of Augmentin, I began having mucus in my stools. Pale yellowish to white. Doctor told me to take Imodium and Culturelle. The Imodium constipated me terribly. Whether it's loose stools or plugged up, I get mucus in varying degrees. I'd rather have loose stools and actually be able to go than be constipated and never go. I am now taking Culturelle 2 pills, 3 x's a day and Ohhira's probiotic, 2 pills, 3x's a day. The mucus in my stools smells sweet, not putrid.
