What Does Lump On Neck Indicate?
REcently had an ultra-sound of a lump in my left neck; slightly larger than a pea, noticed 3 month s ago. Technician said it is likely a lipoid as it was not radioluscent; no other symptoms, recent blood tests reveal hi cholesterol with advice to lose weight and revisit with MD in 6 months. What is it likely to be?

I think it was mentioned as lipoma to you, but on an ultrasound they look typically translucent along with a thin capsule. Please take opinion of a radiologist for your ultrasound as lipoma can be easily diagnosed and confirmed on ultrasound.
Diagnosis of a lipoma can easily be confirmed clinically by a dermatologist on examination itself.
Even if the diagnosis is not confirmed, get a fine needle aspiration cytology
done to confirm it.
In any case, lipoma is not associated with high cholesterol and weight reduction will have effect on your cholesterol but not on your lipoma.
