What Does Low Lying Placenta During Pregnancy Indicate?

Hi! I had my ultrasound last May 31 and it was my 21st week. My placenta was high lying, posterior grade 1. Yesterday, I had another scan and now my placenta has moved to lateral, grade 3, high lying. Is this possible that placenta changes in a span of 8 weeks? Also, within the 8 weeks, my sugar was okay, my BP is also okay. I don t smoke or drink alcoholic beverages. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your pregnancy.

Placenta does not move from one place to another as it is attached to your body so it is fixed but because the uterus grows and fetus size increases this can be seen in two scans differently.

You need to Repeat your ultrasound scan to get a clear opinion.
If you are having low level placenta you must opt for cesarean after proper consultant with your doctor.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us again for any further query.
