What Does Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction And Trace Mitral Regurgitation Mean?
Hello,
For 5 years I have had random center chest pain and back pain with it radiating to jaw randomly or if stressed I've been under tremendous stress with lack of work, the last two months my feet are swelling every day some days not as bad so I had an echocardiogram and this was noted: Left Ventricular ejection fraction of 55-60% what does that mean and Trace Mitral Regurgitation and Trace Regurgitation does this happen with weight gain I'm normally really healthy, I'm 5.8 and weight 244. Does this sort of stuff correct itself with being better in shape? The pain once lasted 20 minutes recently and it was like for a short period of a couple months I had it but then it goes away and creeps up at random...also I got stressed out by a co-worker and a cop that pulled me over for a false ticke he said my seatbelts were off when they were on resulting in a 700 ticket the next day I had chest pains? Does this regurgitation cause pain?
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion your 2D Echo report is normal. No need to worry much. Ejection Fraction (EF) of 55-60% is normal after 40 years of age. And trace valvular regurgitation are seen commonly in age more than 50. These do not contribute to your heart pains. But I advice you to loose weight amd stay fit. This will definitely improve your heart function and reduce your heart pains. Another thing I would like to comment is , avoid stress and anxiety as this will also cause decremental effect on your heart function. So avoid stress and anxiety and loose weight.
